Mr Tharman
Shanmugaratnam, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry,
Launches Relevanz Project Knowledge@NJC
22nd
Feb 2003
National Junior College (NJC) today launched "Knowledge
@ NJC", the first integrated Knowledge
Management technology infrastructure for a Singapore
school. Developed to enrich Teaching and Learning while
enhancing performance of teachers and students, the
initiative will benefit 1750 students and 130 teachers
yearly. |
|
Developed
with Relevanz, "Knowledge @ NJC"
is a school-wide Knowledge Management and Collaboration
solution that enables students and teachers to capture,
categorize and share NJC's Knowledge Assets such as
Test papers, Lecture notes, Syllabus, Pedagogical Expertise,
Examiners Reports and Tutorials. It also includes applications
such as Project Management, CCA Management, eCollaboration,
Content Publishing and Student Center which allow the
school to leverage knowledge assets across the organization.

|
"Knowledge
@ NJC" also addresseses the challenge
of "Brain Drain" - when the mobility of teachers
and students causes knowledge to be lost. "Knowledge
@ NJC" compromises a Knowledge Base
module which allows NJC to institutionalize expertise
for the benefit of future cohorts of students.
Relevanz provided the technology framework
while NJC contributed its content and pedalogical expertise,
creating a truly exciting solution through the synergy
of both organizations.
Relevanz was awarded the project through
an open tender in mid-2002. |
